Daan Utsav is India’s ‘Festival of Giving’ that takes place every year from October 2 to October 8. This Daan Utsav, Xondhan Foundation, in association with Child Help Foundation, has organized various events through out the week.
- Day-1 (Sanitary Pad Library): Celebrating Daan Utsav – Joy of Giving Week with our Sanitary pad library initiative- An awareness program on Menstrual Hygiene. It’s a joint effort from Xondhan Foundation and Child Help Foundation. We have distributed Sanitary pads to students of 3/4villages in Malegar, 4th part, Bongaigaon, Assam.
- Day-2: Exercise kit and essentials distribution to 51 students at Laalmati Bagheswari LP School, Laalmati Grazing, Bongaigaon, Assam.
- Day-3: We celebrated #DaanUtsav with girls from Auxilium Snehalaya (Children home), Noonmati, Guwahati. We gifted sports goods, storybooks, notebooks, drawing books, pencils, colors, chocolates, cake, etc.
- Day-4 (Sanitary Pad Library): Celebrated Daan Utsav with 5th episode of Sanitary pad library – Awareness program on menstrual Hygiene and free pad distribution at Goalpara district, Assam. We distributed Sanitary pads to a few Self Help Groups and locals of Bhatipara & Baniapara of Goalpara, Assam.
- Day-5: Exercise kit distribution to 30kids of Sanbari Tilapara LP School, Village – Sanbari- Tilapara, Dist- Bongaigaon, Assam.
- Day-6: Distributed drawing books, colors, pencils, chocolates, masks, charts, etc to around 20kids of Assam engineering college campus lp school, Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam. Kudos to young ones for coming forward for a cause and trying to make a change.
- Day-7 (Programme-1): Closing Daan Utsav – Joy of Giving Week with lots of hopes and determination. We served lunch prepared by our volunteers and gifted dresses & Hygiene kits to inmates of Jai Mata Di Oldage home in Guwahati, Assam. This is lesser-known and based at a remote location need to have trekked on foot for some good distance, 1.5hrs+ walkthrough hilly train.
- Day-7 (Programme-2): Celebrated the last day of #DaanUtsav with unsung frontline COVID warriors in Bijni, Chirang, Assam. We want to thank all the police personals, administration, medical staff, cleaning staff, and everyone else who are fighting this pandemic. Thanks to LAFAF (a group of artists) for all the wonderful paintings made with lots of love.
